Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays.. Wanted to add some snow to a older static image.. Should of been quick and easy. It was done in Blender Cycles, but that was overkill for a image not requiring ray tracing. So quickly converted to eevee, added the falling snow, then i got carried away and animated everything :) Its a little rushed so may revisit to smooth it out and render in better resolution :) Higher rez video below..

Couldn't resist.. so easy and fast to animate using Blender eevee.

Just a quick animation, testing camera blur in Blender Eevee Also animated Daniel and mushroom, im not much for animating, but will use the motion to capture movement blur.

Just a quick xmas render setup in Blender Eevee.. Still getting over how fast this is. :) Few notes on Eevee: Particle effects work, but no motion blur yet. Emission planes emit no light, but glow nicely. As its beta it crashed several times, so don't do anything final and keep a few saves :) Short video showing the Eevee real time view port

Dontnod really had me fooled with the LiS 2 reveal. Two brothers on the run and i still don't know which one has the powers :) The game looks gorgeous, has that beautiful LiS feel. So looking forward to playing it.

Have a safe and happy holiday! Flannel seems to be the theme here.. Full version over at Deviantart Enjoyed doing this scene in blender. Used particle effects for the snow falling and on the clothing. Motion blur to make it look nice. DOF used in render as well. I'm still not sold on the quality and may have been better to composite DOF or do it in photoshop with a DOF map. The tree snow i used 3DM Snow extension in blender which covered them nicely but the mesh was very fine and was chewing a lot of gpu ram and failing to render. And i was using Alt-D to duplicate the tress and snow as well to save ram. Decimated geometry on the snow mesh for the back trees.. looks exactly the same but freed up heaps of ram. Just about everything was done in blender, aside from the lamp glows, the flash effect and text done in photoshop. Update.. Got bored and animated the particle snow. :)
