Max and Chloe kissing in the new year. Revisited and older render and used Blender Eevee. For the most it worked very well.. fast to render and makes viewing a joy.   Issues i encountered using the beta 2.80 Render layers not all there.. really needed to separate the fireworks collection and have it render on a transparent background so i could apply effects separately. Animating bones/armitures slows down the general performance of the eevee viewport. Lamp light leaking through. Particle issues: Particle node not working, controlling age, lifetime etc of particles not working. Children particles wont take on parent attributes, ie color change Glare node in composite mode was causing white noise in several frames when animating. Anisotropic not working in principled node, at least i could not see an effect. Faked it.

I'm not much for animating stuff, prefer to do normal stills and will only move something to get a motion blur effect.. but the Butterflies where animated in order to get the swam effect and run along a path. So rendered out the animation and then composed in AE. First time using AE as well, didn't turn out exactly how i wanted but still ok'ish. Also added some sound.. I thought about animating Chloe and Max but i am not that patient. Hats off to all the animators out there!.

Happy Australia Day.. Sleep in and BBQ all my plans today. This pic was almost all done in Blender.. Getting better at final composition using compositor and color grading. Glows and glares and color curves all used. I did tweak some aspects in Photoshop and also added the lens flare and sun shine. This can be done in blender but i haven't got it right yet. This started with me extracting Chloe's house assets while watching some tv.. lol I noticed the swing was not in the combine mesh object i extracted.. its was a separate individual object, added it in and decided to add young max and chloe playing on it. Would be a nice scene showing the house and them playing. I then noticed the BBQ grill.. and thought to add Joyce and William and changed it to a BBQ scene. Added fire and smoke effect on the BBQ. The settings for these are not very friendly, tweaked until i got something okish. Noticed the ground was a bit boring with the odd blade of grass sticking out... so...

Been raining here.. a lot. Caught the tail end of a of near cyclone so its been days of clouds and rain. Full version over at deviantart  This was done using Blender filmic.. my first time using it.. Around 95% was completed in blender including the dof, blur and slight vignette. Photoshop added some light brightness and some cosmetic tweaks (filimic needs more power to the light sources.)

Getting more closer to using only Blender to complete compositions. This was around 90% blender. Blurs and lights were done with photoshop. I can do DOF in blender but its not always as good. Lights can also be done with glare, blurs and bightness nodes and will try to use them next. Based on the amazing concept art of Edouard Caplain. First time mucking around with Blender, its quite nice but need to learn a lot of key commands! Couldn't help myself with the title :) I really hope the live action is good, but have some reservations like how will they handle the choices Max needs to make? I'm assuming they will stick to a linear story arc. Can only hope its as good a Stranger Things. Full size here
