Enjoyed doing this scene in blender.
Used particle effects for the snow falling and on the clothing. Motion blur to make it look nice.
DOF used in render as well. I'm still not sold on the quality and may have been better to composite DOF or do it in photoshop with a DOF map.
The tree snow i used 3DM Snow extension in blender which covered them nicely but the mesh was very fine and was chewing a lot of gpu ram and failing to render. And i was using Alt-D to duplicate the tress and snow as well to save ram.
Decimated geometry on the snow mesh for the back trees.. looks exactly the same but freed up heaps of ram.
Just about everything was done in blender, aside from the lamp glows, the flash effect and text done in photoshop.

Got bored and animated the particle snow. :)
