This started off as a water shader test for the pool.. i got a little carried away. :) This was all done in Blender including the color correction, glows and glares for the lights using compositor. Some touch ups and final adjustments in Photoshop. Changed the pool noodles to emission when i accidentally left the node wrangler on the texture and rendered, it looked cool :) Water was a plane with the ocean modifer to give it some small waves. Added noise texture and used a displacement/bump to add further detail to the water ripples. The wavy water reflections you see on the models are actually lamps with texture noise.. blender can do refelection/refraction but it was coming out weak (and taking a long time to render) and i wanted a stronger effect. The issue now was the lamps are now reflecting on the water in the render. Solved this by placing the lamps in another layer and using masks/exclude. So water was rendered clean in one layer, characters and items with the refl...

There are three otters in the water! Large version can be grabbed from Deviantart All done in blender with touch ups and added glint/glows in photoshop. This was very demanding on my pc! Volumetric clouds over the pool was insane to render. Used a noise generator to "punch holes" through the volume and adjusted until it looked like wisps of steam. Ugh just previewing it was crazy. The rest was ok. Normal water shader didn't look like the game pool scene, too realistic. So played around and adjusted several options until it looked more like the game and was allowing the pool lights to shine through. Added a texture mask using texture painter mode in blender for the water drop effects on the girls adjusted glossy for drops, skin and hair. This has a better look then particle water drops.. as they tended to be more black then shinly/glossy. Yes its realistic but black spots don't look to nice. Final composite was color corrected to a bluish tint, glare n...

Started of as a single render decided to make a mini comic. Used Fluid physics in blender to create the splash effects and some particles effects for the towel and mirror. Full over at Deviantart
