Messenger links annoyance.

After an update messenger for my android tablet started opening links in what i assume is its own internal web browser. Any links from friends be they imgur, youtube even fucking facebook links when through this shitty browser and not the corresponding app! Yeh I know.. stop using it. I'm trying to convince my friends to jump to another chat/messenger but they are too entrenched in messenger to move.  So did the normal uninstall/reinstall - nothing changed. Reset android defaults to all apps - no change. Told messenger app NOT to open links - nothing changed. So figured I will install the last version and headed over to apkmirror site. After a few attempts with different version finally got one that worked! Links open with their own apps and all is OK. Version is 94.0.0.18.70 is the one that worked.

Two video cards test with Blender 2.78a

A nvidia 780ti fell into my hands.. so replaced the 560ti in my pc and ran up blender to see some render action.. So lets see what a 980 and 780ti can do. Default CPU i7 as comparison got 5 min  Default BMW test render got 45 sec.     512x256 tile size test got 39.5 sec. Big improvement over the 560ti.. Also ran the tests in the CUDA version of Blender.

Adobe Creative Cloud not updating package apps to new 2017 version

Image
Creative Cloud was not picking up my apps which are packaged installs, even the Apps tab was missing! Solution to this was to edit the ServiceConfig.xml file located at: C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\OOBE\Configs You may have to open Notepad with Admin right to edit. Change the single line of text from false to true. <config><panel><name>AppsPanel</name><visible>true</visible></panel></config> Restart CC.. Woot Apps tab is back! But wait! Its not detecting any of my Adobe package installs! $%#^@ Ok after much gnashing of teeth the simple solution is to change the language in CC app. FFS the language? Really Adobe? Mine was set to American English.. Changed to International. Once changed, it should pick up your apps ( may need to close Creative Cloud and start up again.) And get that sweet update button!.
