Panasonic TH-P50VT30A

My Panasonic VT20 got a vertical green line on the screen.
Took it into warranty shop and was told they wont replace the panel, instead will get a new tv. Great i thought thinking i was going to get the same model but new!

2 weeks later got a call to say come pick up the new tv.
Arrived to find the new VT30 waiting for me. Fantastic.

Installed and setup the tv asap.

Few things that stuck me as being good.

1. Remote has a dedicated 3D button. No more digging in the menus to change it.

2. Remote has a last view button.. this will let you cycle back and forth from 2 channels or 2 av inputs.

3. Tested the tv via a upnp share on win 7. It played back AVCHD form a sony camera like the VT20 did and some AVI files fine.
On a whim i pressed play on a MKV file and to my delight it played back.. tested a few more and all played back! Fantastic looks like Panasonic at long last has caught up with Samsung in the media dept.

4. Again on a whim, ran windows media player and tired the 'Play To' option, selected the VT30 and boom.. it worked! Message flashed on the screen saying media playback was starting, it switched to media mode and played the file. Very nice!

Next im going to test and see if the tv will output/passthrough Dolby Digital to a receiver.

So impressed with the features on this tv, havent had a chance to really test the display.
